In Oberailsfeld, it might be difficult to decide whether not to stop and try the delicious beer made by the local brewery “Held”, before ascending to Eichenbirkig. Before arriving in the secluded village Moschendorf, we have a rest at the “Weiße Marter”, a Baroque votive stele from the 18th century. We continue leisurely on the stony road which leads us directly to the secluded forest warden’s lodge Schweigelberg, situated on a clearing. Nobody would expect a restaurant to be located in this lonely region. This restaurant has been yearly recommended by the international gourmet journal “Der Feinschmecker” (the Gourmet) since 2002.
